Observation of the Spirit - When a person has spirit, he or she has clear and glittery eyes, a clear Mind, quick responses of the body, and the prognosis is good even if the disease is severe.
Observation of the Body - Examples would be: a thin emaciated body might indicate a long-standing deficiency of blood or Yin. Hardening of the blood vessles can indicate a problem in the heart. Flaccid skin would indicate a deficiency of the spleen.
Observation of the Personality - This indicates the way a person of the individual parts of the body such as the eyes, limbs, face, mouth, and fingers move. Movements, rapid or slow, indicate various effects on the liver, heart, or spleen.
Observation of the Tongue - The tongue is one of the most important diagnostic tools. The shape, color, and coating of your blood, body fluids, and various internal organs.

Pulse Diagnosis
- In Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, PULSE DIAGNOSIS is used to determine the distribution and balance of the body's energy systems.
- In pulse diagnosis twelve different pulses on the wrists are felt.
- Six pulses on the left wrist: namely the pulses of the heart, small intestines, liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and bladder.
- These twelve pulses are located at specific positions on the wrists and each one tells the exact state of the different organs or function, and the quantity and quality of the body energy (Ch'i) passing through them.
